The adoption event went well. We had 6 dogs ready for adoption and 3 of them got home plus we did a few adoptions the week of the event. Seven dogs got forever homes this month already. That sure is a good feeling!!!
Anni is doing well. We did find out she has a fungal infection called cryptococcus. She will need meds for 6-8 months. Looks like I have a long term foster dog but I really dont mind. She is a great girl. She fits in very well here. Letting her go will be tough but I know I can do it. I have dont it before. I am better as a foster home than as an adopter. I can save more dogs that way.
I am back to walking the dogs again. I can do 4 at a time and boy do people look at me funny. I walk Kasper , Goliath, Sam and Anni. Almost 400 lbs of dog. They are so easy to walk together. Plus I enjoy getting away from the phone and computer for a few. That doesnt happen to often with me. I hope Diesel gets to feeling better soon so I can walk him. I might attempt to take Ben tomorrow. That could be interesting!!!
A reminder- It is mosquito season. Which means heartworms. Please be sure you give your dog the heartworm preventative monthly. Its cheap and much better than trying to treat heartworm.

I am still trying to get Anni's toe healed up. It looks ok but I am a little worried as I only have 5 more days of meds, so we may end up going to see my vet on Monday.
Other than that she is doing well. I see more of her personality coming out each day. That is the greatest job of being a foster home. You get a dog that is sick, has been abused, or just been abandoned and they learn to really fast that I am here to help them. Yes its hard to let them go but if I dont foster who will? Foster homes are so hard to find. Most people cannot do it, or just are not able to. If you can you should give it a try. Its worth is all the way!!!
Today we got a sweet dobergirl who should weigh about 70-80lbs. Sadly she is 143lbs. How sad to let your dog get this obese. She is going to a wonderful foster home who will be sure to get the weight off her.
I am getting ready for the adoption event on Sat. I hope to see many dogs get adopted!!! Rocky the Rockstar got adopted today. I was so happy to see that boy get a home. Rocky is one great dog. Plus I know the adopter really well and I know Rocky will be well cared for.

Been a while
I am going to try to keep my blog current. I have been super busy but will try to make the time to blog.
Right now I have a great foster dog names Anni. She was found as a stray. She had a nasty growth on her toe, and sadly we had to amputate the toe. She is healing now and should be ready for adoption soon.
My dogs are all doing very well. Kasper just turned 6. I don't know where the time went. I can remember when she was just a little puppy. I am so happy I was able to get her before the breeder shot her. He was going to do this because she is deaf. And let me tell you being deaf doesn't effect her at all. She is very smart. She was the easiest dog I have ever had to housebreak.
There are lots of dogs in the program up for adoption. We have an adoption event Sat and I hope to see lots of them get adopted!!! As always we need foster homes. I think all rescues can agree finding and keeping foster homes is the hardest thing to do.

Kinda new to this .
Hi , my name is Robin . I live in Ohio with my husband Kenny and our son Nathan . We are owned by 6 dogs . Kasper and Goliath are great danes , both are deaf . Samson & Diesel are dobermans , both adopted from doberman rescue . Lily is a rat terrier and Ben is a min pin . We have 2 fosters right now , Lucy (my girl) and Zeeva . And a stow away rat terrier named Ladybug . We dont know if she is staying or leaving just yet . I will know when the perfect home comes along .
I get asked all the time why do I volunteer so much time with the rescue . Well that is easy . I loved Ranger (my dobe that passed in 2005 ) so much that I wanted to give back to the breed . So a year after he left me , I started to foster and have kept doing it . I have had 47 dogs come through my home in the last 2.5 years . I hope to help many many more . Letting them go is hard but I know they go to good homes . And when one leaves there is always another that needs me . My family is very supportive and they all help out .Mom even comes over to dog sit my dogs on adoption days as we are gone most of the day .
I hope you enjoy my blog . And I hope you look forward to hearing about the foster kids !
